Praia is the biggest city and the capital of Cape Verde, an island within the west portion of Senegal in the Atlantic Ocean. The word “Praia” means beach in both Cape Verdean Creole and Portuguese. This city lies in the southern part of Santiago Island’s coast within the Sotavento Island group.
