When you are shopping in Portugal, you need to check your schedule as they usually open from 9 am to 7 pm. The bigger supermarkets are open everyday from 9 am to 11 pm.
One of the best things to bring as novelties for your loved ones at home are the filigree jewellery from the Minho Region up north. They are often made into earrings, pendants and brooches.
