We are in the area you call the Rota dos Castelos: Alter do Chão, Marvão, Portalegre, Castelo de Vide, and Nisa.

The Sao Mamede mountain range holds a facination for nature lovers, walkers and hikers, and the culturally discerning. This a very relaxing area steeped in history and barely touched by tourism.

We often have guests who come to explore the area for properties for their own secret retreat. The property section of the Sunday Times in the UK last week said "the countryside across to the Spainish border is an undiscovered treasure trove for those with a low six-figure budget".

May is a fantastic month for the beauty of the Montados cork oak forest countryside. Please see <a href="http://www.azenhadoramalho.com/alentejo-portugal.htm" title="Alentejo Portugal" rel="nofollow">Alentejo Portugal</a> for more details.
